Matthew Webley is a web developer based in Cardiff, Wales, with over fifteen years of experience building with PHP and Laravel, and a career on the web that goes back to the days of GeoCities, before MySpace, Facebook and YouTube. He's an e-commerce specialist, building and running online shops on Shopify and WooCommerce, and the custom software around them.

He's also the founder of Wootzoo, a bilingual childcare management platform built for Welsh nurseries and Cylch Meithrin settings, handling everything from CIW compliance to parent communication in English and Welsh.

My story

WebleyDevelopment is back. I've had this domain for years, and now I'm bringing it back to life.

I was building sites when GeoCities was still a thing, before MySpace, before Facebook, before YouTube, back when getting online meant the screech of dial-up. I've been building for the web ever since, and Wootzoo is where all of it went.

I still take on web development projects now and then, so this site is also my online portfolio, and a place to share my take on the state of the internet, and now AI.
